Russian for Beginners 2
XPC-RU2 FEKT XPC-RU2 Acad. year 2022/2023 Summer semester 3 credits
The material is based on developing the communicative competence, especially in listening comprehension and effective reading and writing skills.
At the beginning,the ability to write in Russian alphabet is practised systematically.
Within the course students are also informed about the country, its culture, customs and specifications. Practising the new material and developing communicative skills is emphasized.

1-2. Lesson 6 - year seasons,months.Declension of nouns,ordinal numbers. Past tense. Writing.
3-4. Lesson 7 - expressing needs,wishes. Shopping.Ordinal numbers,verb conjugation,nouns.Reading comprehension.
5-7. Lesson 8 - food and drinks. Numbers with nouns. Shopping,pronunciation of preposition patterns.
8-10. Lesson 9 - Summer plans,sports.Verbs,pronouns,adjectives. Reading comprehension,listening,pronoun declension.
11-12. How to say the date, tell the time,ordinal numbers.Reading comprehension,listening.Prepositional expressions,pronouns,noun declination. Around the town,transport,verb conjugation,reading comprehension.
13. Credit test.
Progress assessment
Credit and examination consists of:
1 written test based on material gone over - 40p.
2 listening comprehension - 30p.
3 reading comprehension - 30p.
Teaching methods and criteria
Teaching methods depend on the type of course unit as specified in the article 7 of BUT Rules for Studies and Examinations.
Teaching methods include language seminars and homework. Students have to actively participate in classes.
Presenting and application of new topics using multimedia, simulation of real situations.
Exercises developing communication skills in both oral and written forms.
