FIT BUT Students' Union
We're a group of students that care about what's going on at our faculty and try to make both our study and personal lives here better.
We represent the students of FIT and protect their – our interests and rights. We communicate with the faculty's management and we try to stand close to the decisions that affect our studies.
We help the faculty in organising various events – we're the people behind the Open Days or the freshmen welcoming event, Start@FIT. We keep an eye on some of the faculty's study rooms. We also run the students' club U Kachničky (“The Duck”) that we open to public regularly and where we organise our own events.
Opening hours of the student's club U Kachničky (R212) are on its website Kachna Online.
What we do
Student's club U Kachničky (“The Duck”)
We know that student life is challenging and that is why we have a space at the faculty where you can come to have a break, have a game of table football or pool, play a board game, play the piano or just go out with friends for a beer. We take care of the club, expand the offer of board games and we organise various activities in this beautiful space.
You can find the current information about opening hours on Kachna Online. There, you can turn on push notifications so that you don't miss any opening. There's also an event calendar and a catalogue of board games that you can play in the club or borrow them.
Start@FIT – freshmen welcoming
Every year, at the beginning of the semester, we help new students to adapt for a university life by sharing our experiences. It's not only about providing them with insights about the information system, timetables and the studies in general. We want the freshmen to meet their new colleagues and make friends during various activities at the faculty, at the students' club U Kachničky or at different interesting places in Brno.
Board Games and Tournaments
Students' club U Kachničky has a lot of potential for hosting various events. We organize tournaments in board games, pool, table football, chess and in competitive computer games. We are still looking for enthusiasts with some free time to help with the organization, so if you would like to help, contact us!
Balls
Whether it is FIT Student Ball, Representational FIT and FEEC Ball or BUT Ball, we are involved in all of them. Ourselves we organize the first named, which is usually being held in late February. It is a unique opportunity to suit up, experience a pleasant evening with friends and dance.
Rock@FIT and Closed Day
We love music. And that is why we let not only bands with FIT students as members to show off. Rock@FIT is an afternoon full of music and entertainment. At the same day we also organize “closed day”. An event for students who can debug the faculty, do an underground sightseeing or win the prize in many different competitions.
Sit sit
An evening full of food, singing and toasting. This concept is especially widespread in the Nordic countries, but we liked it so much that we decided to bring it here. You can find out more here. Don't miss it and follow us on Facebook!
