The subject is focused on the field of e-commerce in the conditions of the global information society with a focus on its practical implementation. The basic theoretical concepts are subsequently used for the practical solution of the semester project dedicated to building an e-commerce solution on the chosen platform.

Learning objectives

The main goal of the course is for students to acquire the basic theoretical and, above all, practical knowledge necessary for the design, implementation and subsequent management of e-commerce in the conditions of a global information society.

Students will primarily acquire knowledge of the e-commerce systems and models, as well as managerial approaches to their management, supplemented by skills in the fields of design, realization and implementation of electronic commerce using ICT resources. These skills are developed by creating e-commerce solutions using available platforms (Prestashop, etc.).

 

Prerequisite knowledge and skills

Basic competence in the use of information and communication technologies (theoretical and practical). Basic knowledge of economics, management and marketing is an advantage.

Syllabus of exercises

The seminars focus on the development of competencies for the implementation of e-commerce solutions with a practical output in the form of a semester project aimed at developing a specific e-shop.

Progress assessment

The evaluation of the subject consists of two parts - the preparation of the Semester Project focused on the creation of a specific electronic store and its subsequent defence.

The assessment corresponds to the point classification according to ECTS, while the maximum number of points - 100 is divided between the sub-parts as follows:

  • Semester project: 60 points;
  • Project defense: 40 points.

In case of an insufficient number of points or the need for a better assessment, an oral examination is possible.

Participation in classes is mandatory in pre-defined terms (specified within the e-learning) related to the review of the processing of the semester project and the completion of partial tasks. Replacement is possible only after agreement with the teacher.

Completion of the course for students with an individual study plan:
Conditions for graded credit: Development of a project according to the assignment and its submission with the prescribed documentation according to the instructions in e-learning and its subsequent defence with a possible oral examination.
