Abstract

IPv6 has been created since the beginning as a incompatible with a previously used IPv4. On the one hand, authors did not have to restrict the design in dependance on previous IPv4 protocol, but on the other hand, incompatibility complicates the deployment of IPv6 in networks. The possibility of coexistence of both protocols is the focus of this article.
