Abstract

The paper contains introduction to packet classification, describes two different classes of packet classification algorithms based on mutually distinct principles and suggests possible new approach to high-speed packet classification.

Annotation

This paper is focused on packet classification in high-speed networks. Together with existing principles and their properties it discuss possible new approaches to solve problem of packet classification in multiple dimensions in order to achieve high throughput and low memory requirements based on analysis and preprocessing of input set of rules.
