Abstract

The aim of the project is to research and develop an innovative nanoradar sensor for autonomous driving of trucks. The research and development will encompass respective fields in radar technology, mechanical design, HW and SW aspects, automation and control, machine learning, signal processing, validation and testing. Part of the radar development will contain research and development of two autonomous driving functions, which will be used for customer demonstration purposes. The radar itself will be designed considering the Industry 4.0 principles. A digital twin of the product, serving the virtual design of the manufacturing plant and a virtual adaptation of associated manufacturing processes, will be developed. The digital twin will allow for efficiency improvements in product customization, leading to time and cost savings throughout the implementation process.
