Complete program for this year's Researchers' Night on the theme of WEALTH

Science is a key source of our prosperity and wealth. Come and see for yourself at our faculty, where centuries of history meet cutting-edge technological research.

We invite you to join us for Researchers' Night. On Friday, September 26, 2024, from 5:00 p.m. (until 11:00 p.m.), you will have the opportunity to glimpse the world of modern science and explore technological innovations at FIT VUT.

What can you look forward to?

The hidden treasure of augmented reality: drone control (O104)

  • Come to our faculty and learn how to control a virtual drone.

Smart city data as the wealth of the future (C236)

  • Try out interactive tools (dashboards, etc.) that work with open data from the world of smart cities.

Efficiency is the path to wealth (L211)

  • We will introduce you to the functioning of IoT devices and the principles of energy harvesting.

Your identity, your wealth (S214)

  • Are you interested in how systems that can recognize you work? Visit the biometric laboratory.

The real price of cybersecurity (A112, 6:00–6:45 p.m.)

  • We will introduce you to the world of cyber threats and attacks and show you what consequences they can have.

Tour of the unique faculty campus with an architect (meeting point in the courtyard of the monastery, 5:00 and 6:30 p.m.)

  • Our faculty campus is rated as one of the most beautiful in the world. Experience its architectural and historical beauty with your own eyes.

3D Printing Workshop (Open Space / R109; two sessions at 6:00 p.m. and 7:15 p.m.)

  • Try your hand at designing your own 3D model, which you can then print on a 3D printer.

Cryptocurrencies: Modern Gold or a Shiny Trap? (C304)

  • In our interactive presentation, we will explain how cryptocurrencies work and take a look at the darker corners of the internet.

Virtual reality as a gift of psychotherapy (A218)

  • Try virtual reality in the role of a therapist and patient who are going through a traumatic virtual experience together.

Night at FIT with a fire show (between buildings L and Q, 9:00 p.m.)

  • Simultaneously with Researchers' Night, our faculty is hosting an accompanying event called Night at FIT. You can look forward to a fire show by the Boca Fuego group. Some of the Night at FIT activities require advance registration. Register HERE.

What treasures are hidden in manuscripts and historical maps? (Q201)

  • Today's modern technologies are capable of bringing the past to life and revealing the true wealth hidden in documents. See for yourself.

Where does corporate wealth go? (A113, 6:00–10:00 p.m.)

  • Become the head of a company for a moment and find out why a successful business suddenly loses its prosperity.

Searching for wealth in balance online and offline (A112, 7:00–7:45 p.m.)

  • This workshop will guide you through the topic of finding balance: how to enjoy the benefits of the virtual world without losing the wealth of the real one.

Security aspects of AI (A221)

  • We will show you the progress in the field of deepfakes and also address the security risks of large language models (LLMs).

Cellular automata: when nature does the math (in front of L306)

  • Use cellular automata to reconstruct a damaged photo taken with a digital camera, for example.

Treasures of IT history: Museum of Computer Technology (A118)

  • What did IT technologies look like in the past, and how have their design and functions changed over time? Visit our museum.
