V pátek 7. června se na FIT VUT koná veřejná habilitační přednáška Michala Španěla z Ústavu počítačové grafiky a multimédií

Srdečně zveme na veřejnou přednášku v rámci habilitačního řízení Ing. Michala Španěla, Ph.D.: A Decade in Learning 3D Shape for Medical Applications. Koná se v pátek 7. června  od 13:30 hodin v posluchárně E 105 na Fakultě informačních technologií VUT. Přednášku je také možno sledovat on-line.

Abstrakt přednášky:

The research topics in the field of 3D tissue shape reconstruction for pre-operative treatment planning the author has been working on in recent years will be presented. The talk will cover two types of methods. The traditional statistical shape models for 3D tissue modelling will be presented, especially their 2D-to-3D registration for 3D reconstruction of a fractured bone from 2D radiographs. In the second part, the talk will focus on deep learning methods for 3D skull shape reconstruction and tooth detection on digital dental casts. In the end, the advantages of both approaches and the experience of using both methods in clinical practice will be summarized.
