On Saturday, April 13, we will welcome interested high school students to our faculty for the AI4SŠ@FIT BRNO workshop, which we are organizing with the support of Brno.AI and AT&T. 

The target group is students who are interested in artificial intelligence and have mastered the basics of programming. The workshop will run from 9am to 5pm and will take participants through the topic of machine learning and large language models like ChatGTP. The schedule for the day is designed to cover the topic in both theoretical and practical terms:

Morning:

  • We will go over the topics of machine learning, classification and regression.
  • We will try our hand at creating simple classifiers in Python capable of, for example, diagnosing diseases from lab results or detecting fraudulent payment transactions.
Afternoon:
  • We will focus on language models, how they work, how to train them, and how to retrain an existing language model for your own purpose.
  • We will try to practically fine-tune a larger language model on our own data (LORA fine-tuning), and also use GPT models via the OpenAI API for bulk information extraction from Boolean text, including optimizing the definition of appropriate prompts.
  • We will use the Python programming language in the Google Colaboratory environment.
