English language course (from FEEC) registration and subsequent summer semester course re-registration

The condition for completing the bachelor's programme is to fulfill the compulsory course "English" at the level of at least B1 or higher, see rector's directive no. 12/2019. Students that will not register term of exercise successfully will have their English language course registration canceled. Please consider in particular, the following information:

First-year students had to take the English placement test according to the guideline of the Department of Languages, and can register English courses for summer semester 2024/25 according to their results. Students are automatically enrolled in the respective English course, and the enrolment is canceled if they fail to register a term of exercise. Students can also submit an application to have their level of English adjusted (within 14 days of closing the test). Higher-year students have already registered a course reflecting their level of English and must now register a term of exercise.

Registration of terms of exercise for English courses in the summer semester 2024/25 will take place in VUT IS (in the Classes registration module):

• on 17. 1. 2025 at 20:00 the priority registration for 2nd year and higher is going to open,
• on 20. 1. 2025 at 13:00 this registration for the 2nd year and higher is going to close,
• on 20. 1 2025 at 20:00 the priority registration for 1st year is going to open,
• on 26. 1. 2025 at 23:59 the registration ENDS. Students without a class will have their English course deleted.

Only English courses BAN1-BAN4 and AIT will be available for registration. If you are interested in another language course, do not register a term of exercise and wait for the summer semester course re-registration.

First-year students who have not passed the test apply for a change in English level and choose BAN2 or BAN3 at their own discretion. Subsequently, they wait for course re-registration and can register a term of exercise if there still are terms available. Students registered for an English language course without a term of exercise will have their registration canceled once the registration period ends.

It is advised not to leave English courses for later years of your study, as there will be less seats available, BAN2 course won't be opened in winter semester and registration of English for the summer semester will only be possible in higher years if some English is also registered for the winter semester.

Subsequently the summer semester course re-registration:

• for the first-year students will open on 3. 2. 2025 at 20:00,
• for all other students will open on 4. 2. 2025 at 20:00,
• ends on 16. 2. 2025 at 23:59.

Credit ceiling for the summer semester is set according to the guideline no. 2/2022, whereas a possible increase up to 80 credits happens continuously with the winter semester study results inputted in VUT IS. Any unauthorized student’s course enrollment will be randomly canceled.
