Quantum computation has big potentials to increase our computational capabilities. Recently, giant technology companies have started or planned to build small size prototype real quantum computers, and this triggered the paradigm shift from theory to practice. Even though, it is still very early to use potentials of quantum computations, there are some expectations in a few years to implement a quantum task that is hard to be simulated by the current classical computers.

Miroslav Iwachow, CEE Industrial Sector Technical Leader in IBM Central and Eastern Europe, presents Universal quantum computers for business and science. He introduces the IBM Q, an industry first initiative to build universal quantum computers for business and science. This short introduction will present the IBM roadmap and approach in bringing quantum computing into commercial use. It addresses the potential areas where quantum computer can be applied. The presentation introduces the various components needed to achieve a quantum environment Aqua, Aer, Ignis, Terra and closes with the introduction of IBM Q's latest innovation the IBM Q System One, the world's first integrated quantum computing system.

Abuzer Yakaryilmaz, a theoretical computer scientist working on quantum automata and complexity theory, member of the Center for Quantum Computer Science at University of Latvia, presents the way of Bringing quantum science to education. After reviving the the potentials of quantum computation, he shortly introduces the the QDrive mission, explains why education is our primary focus and how we can use pedagogical tools to attract new generation and people to the field.

The presentation is an open event for the following Quantum Programming Workshop at FIT BUT.
