This paper presents SmartMower part of the concept of intelligent system called SmartGarden. SmartMower is designed to take care of mowing the lawn in the smarter way than current mowers. The main idea is to overcome the disadvantages of existing mowing systems. They are often based on random goal choosing and also shape of mowing area is usually determined by a wire hidden under the ground. Our system is mainly based on accurate localization, which is achieved by using intelligent data fusion from a large number of sensors like (D)GPS, lidars, camera and other. This allows us to use advanced algorithms for navigation which improve performance and efficiency of lawn mowing.
