Abstract

This paper proposes an optimization-based process to determine position of auxiliary electrodes of an inductive flowmeter. The aim of the process is to suppress the error of the measured flow rate due to the liquid velocity irregularity in the proximity of a pipe bend. Three 3-D fields are calculated during the optimization process, namely the magnetic flux density, the local flow velocity in the proximity of the pipe bend, and the steady current density.
