Abstract

A rigorous approach to the choice of parameters of the perfectly matched layer for 2D unbounded region of Laplace's field with antisymmetrical or symmetrical boundary conditions is presented in the paper. The PML approximates at its terminals the infinite 2D linear grid used to model surrounding space. Its parameters are chosen so as to minimize suitably chosen error function.
