Abstract

We will use the theory of differential forms and topological methods to show that
the steepness of the increase of the SUV does not provide sufficient information about the prognosis. By analyzing the transport geometry of a radiopharmaceutical using the Stokes and Brunn-Minkowski theorems, we prove that the steepness of the increase in SUV itself does not provide relevant information about the shape and size of the tumor. On the contrary – if one of the parameters, the linear dimension or the shape of the tumor remains unchanged, the increase in SUV per unit time can theoretically reach almost any value between zero and infinity only by changing the other parameter.
