biometrics, 3D hand geometry, illumination, structured light
The article descrives common methods for user recognition based on their hand geometry, comparison of methods and a new concept, which is based on the previous experience. The method is oriented on appropriate illumination, which leads to a simple, quick and geometrically precise acquirement of the hand shape, followed by 3D reconstruction. In connection to that, examples are presented, where light sources with different wavelengths and structured light have been used. Alle presented methods are compared and their cons and pros are introduced. Further, two methods are presented in this article, which are suitable for comparison of two measurements. The first one compares the images as textures. The second one uses 3D method, which is generally used in 3D face recognition.
