Abstract

The paper describes a new course GIS at Faculty of InformationTechnology BUT in Brno. The course is being teached already second yearand it is oriented mostly to programmers and this style of interest. Wehave chosen GRASS to be the main tool in lessons and excercises. AlsoESRI tool ArcGIS was bought to make a commercial complement to GRASS.
