Abstract

The adjustmentof computer flows based on available bandwidth is a typical resource allocationproblem. Thou, the nature of this problem, seems easy, the everchanging stateof computer network makes it really hard to achieve. The current TCP/IP stacklacks the flexibility that is necessary for flow allocation, which aligns with thecurrent throughput. We investigate this flow allocation in Recursive InterNetworkArchitecture that allows us to assess this phenomenon easily due to itsinherent programmability. We have developed a policy for distributed Flow Allocatorthat takes into account minimal bandwidth demands of requestor flow. We haveimplemented and assessed this policy in the frame of rlite project.
