Bandwidth-driven Flow Allocation Policy for RINA
RINA, TCP, congestion control, flow allocation, rlite
The adjustment of computer flows based on available bandwidth is a typical
resource allocation problem. Thou, the nature of this problem, seems easy, the
everchanging state of computer network makes it really hard to achieve. The
current TCP/IP stack lacks the flexibility that is necessary for flow allocation,
which aligns with the current throughput. We investigate this flow allocation in
Recursive InterNetwork Architecture that allows us to assess this phenomenon
easily due to its inherent programmability. We have developed a policy for
distributed Flow Allocator that takes into account minimal bandwidth demands of
requestor flow. We have implemented and assessed this policy in the frame of
rlite project.
