Abstract

The aim of the project is to create a system for automated visual inspection of
the condition of the road, road markings, traffic equipment and other assets of
the road administrator. The system will use continuous data collection using
smart camera devices for fast fault detection, and these will be clearly reported
to the administrator of the communications. The system will utilize modern
machine learning methods and advanced localization algorithms that allow the
manufacturing of cheaper and more usable equipment than currently available on
the market. The overall system will consist of a smart camera, software using
artificial intelligence and existing map data for in-camera data selection, and
a cloud system for final evaluation and reporting of communication defects and
changes.
