Computer stopped working a few days before submitting an assignment? Students may borrow faculty laptops

What to do when your laptop breaks down before submitting an assignment and when there is currently no access to computer laboratories? Students who have to face such a problem can now borrow faculty laptops. "A student who gets into an awkward situation when, for example, they have no device they can use to work on their projects due to a malfunction, can send a request to CVT (first send an eamil to nbcvt@fit.vutbr.cz  and then contactt Ms. Samsonová, office L13).  The laptop is normally ready for use and can ve collected the following day.

Anna Silnova's article won an award at the Odyssey 2020 international conference

Anna Silnova from FIT and her colleagues wrote the best expert student article. They won the Jack Godfrey's Best Student Paper Award at the Odyssey conference - the most prestigious event in the field of automatic speaker and language recognition. Originally, it was supposed to be held in Tokyo, but due to current situation, it took place online at the beginning of November. Results of elections to the BUT Academic Senate

In the elections to the BUT Academic Senate for the election period of 2020-2023, which took place online on 3 and 4 November, Petr Hanáček (60 votes) and Jiří Jaroš (50 votes) were elected as representatives of academic staff. Students elected Viktor Konupčík as their representative (361 votes). Ondřej Ondryáš was elected in the by-elections to the Student Chamber of the Academic Senate of FIT BUT.

FIT is part of an emerging artificial intelligence platform

The Faculty of Information Technology is one of the initiators of the new Brno-based artificial intelligence platform - Brno.AI. Its purpose is to offer the opportunity for companies, universities and public administration to meet and connect and thus create an open community that will help bring AI into the real world. On Wednesday, 11 November, the historically first meetup took place, during which the participants could learn about opportunities for new AI projects, practical examples of the use of artificial intelligence and successful research projects. Vítězslav Beran, Senior Lecturer and Vice-Dean of the faculty and one of the guests of this online event introduced the most interesting people from FIT. The event was organised by the South Moravian Innovation Centre (JIC) in co-operation with other partners.
