Girls at FIT
IT is for everyone, regardless of age, nationality and not at all gender. Information technologies are all around us today and affect almost every area of lives, so it is important that both men and women participate in designing new technologies that create our future.
Today, many girls are studying at FIT and a number of successful female PhD students and scientists not only from the Czech Republic but also from abroad are working at FIT. IT is a varied and creative field, and with a good foundation, you can do anything - from multimedia through software engineering to bioinformatics. You can study FIT sitting at the computer without touching the solder, but if you enjoy hardware, robots or airplanes, you will also find it!
Thanks to the quality education and experience you will get at FIT, you will not be short of work. There is simply interest in the IT graduates, and even more in skillful IT girls!

I was looking for the best employer in my field of study, says Google´s Barbora Micenková
Barbora Micenková, a graduate from the Faculty of Information Technology of BUT, has a company e-mail address many people from IT industry dream of - ending with @google.com. After completing her doctoral studies in Denmark, she managed to become a trainee in the Swiss branch of Google, and subsequently get a full-time employment offer. She has been working as a software engineer in the ad delivery team for the last three years. She says it is not impossible to get a job at Google. However, she advises every applicant to prepare for the interview. -

At the Faculty of Information Technology, Šárka Květoňová is active in teaching and research in the area of project management, economics of information products and strategic management of information systems. Moreover, she has also led the Summer School (F)IT for girls for thirteen years. -
From the Basque Country to Brno. Mireia Diez Sánchez came to BUT to teach computers to understand human speech
She arrived at Brno couple of years ago and she liked her traineeship at the Faculty of Information Technology of BUT so much she decided to come back. Currently, Mireia Diez Sánchez works for Speech@FIT - one of the most important research groups in the area of data mining from speech in the world in the framework of the Marie Curie grant.
